Jesus is Risen

April, 20, 2014

“I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live." (John 11:25)

Some may argue that Friday is actually the day that Jesus was buried and Sunday was the day He rose from the grave. but actually, it was Wednesday that He was buried and Saturday, He arose.  Also, the term Easter is a pagen term from the Roman Emporer Constantine.  But, from the Bible, Wednesday and Saturday are correct.  It has nothing to do with rabbits, eggs, and candy although, it is fun for the little ones.  Whatever your version of Easter is, it is still all about the death and resurrection of our Lord and Saviour and his suffering and dying for our sins!  I praise Him for that everyday and I know someday I will be able to praise Him for it everyday for eternity!  Thank you, Jesus, for dying for my sins and as Charlie Daniels says in another one of his songs, "Washed in the Blood"--Ask Him to forgive your sins. Come boldly to the throne and then say Jesus, Jesus come and take Your children home.

Partial lyrics from Joy In The Morning by Charlie Daniels "The Door"

When they crucified my Jesus they drove nails into His hands.  The sky turned gray and stormy and a darkness filled the land. And then the Roman soldiers gambled for the robe that He had worn. Then an earthquake shook Jerusalem and the temple veil was torn. They went up to the cross and stuck a sword into His side.  When they knew for certain that the man had surely died, they took Him down from off the cross and laid Him in a grave and rolled a mighty stone across the entrance to the cave.  And it was early on Sunday morning along about the break of day, they went out to the tomb and found the stone had been rolled away. They came upon a young man who looked at them and said, "Why are you looking for a living man here among the dead?" Well they were scared and they were doubtful. They were crying in despair. When all of a sudden they turned around, and Jesus was standing there.  He said, "Go find my disciples and tell them something for me, the the Son of Man has risen and I'll meet them in Galilee."  Let there be joy in the morning, joy all through the day, 'Cause Jesus Christ our Saviour has overcome death, hell and the grave...
